Martyn Royce is an internationally acclaimed Epping-based contemporary painter.

He runs weekly sessions in the heart of Epping where artists of all levels can gather together in a friendly, supportive environment. Group members can either learn the skill of life drawing from scratch, or – for the many accomplished artists that join in – simply enjoy the relaxation and convivial atmosphere as we draw from the model.

Martyn supplies all the materials, so beginners don’t need to worry about buying anything. Pencils, graphite, coloured chalks, felt pens and large sheets of artists’ paper are on hand, as is Martyn’s guidance for anyone looking to improve their artistic abilities.

The weekly two-hour session includes creating six or seven drawings from the professional male or female model, with a tea break – and sometimes cake!
